Online shopping colossal has revealed its first ever phone. Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos launched the Fire smartphone on June 18, in Seattle. The long-rumored Amazon’s all-new Android-based smartphone is a product of four years of development. The phone is introduced to exceptional sensor technologies to initiates’ 3D experience on phone and revolutionizes the way people know the world by their phones.

The phone runs Amazon's Android-based Fire OS 3.5, a forked version of Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. 4.7 inch display with High Definition resolution is designed for one-hand use. The phone is outfitted with a 13-megapixel rear camera and 2.1 megapixel four front-facing cameras with optical image stabilization. There is a shutter button for quick access, the lens experience doesn't end here it further impresses us further by giving away free unlimited photo storage on Amazon Cloud Drive.

Amazon has put sincere efforts to close the gap between ‘I want that’ and ‘I have it” says Amazon’s mobile executive. The Fire phone has tried to give a powerful and creative impact of introducing two new technologies and exceptional LIVE service, which makes it different from other leading smartphones. Let’s take a look at some of the hyped features and see if the phone is able to kindle a fire in our mind!!

The dynamic perspective, an interactive technology integrated to change the way people see and interact through their phones. The dynamic perspective has head tracking, shortcut gestures and multi-dimensional interface elements. Its four front cameras and unusual sensor make the phone responds to the way you hold, moves or look at it. This feature gives three-dimensional depth to the applications. Developers have a built-in Peek, Tilt and Swivel strength which mean you just need to tilt or swivel the phone to quickly open navigation drawers, quick actions, scrolls or you can even peek it to peep around the edges.

Bezos revealed another exceptional technology Firefly, the audio and object recognition technology. A dedicated button given for its prompt, the user just needs to press and hold the button and the sensor will scan and identify the product and further direct you to more information such as buy, share, Wikipedia and many more. Firefly identifies over 70 million real world objects like QR and barcodes, artwork, songs, movies printed web and email addresses, phone numbers.

Amazon believes in giving world class customer service experience,  this confirms the Fire phone feature called Mayday, an ultimate 24/7 hours free Video chat support. A simple hit on Mayday icon will make an expert available within 15 seconds to assist you with any problems you have with your Fire Phone.

There are ample of the amazing features in the list such as the ASAP feature which caches video and starts streaming immediately. Amazon's Immersion Reading and WhisperSync for voice allow switching between readings and listening to an e-book, free Prime Amazon membership for 12 months. Looking at these interesting features it looks the device is designed especially for Amazon online shopping.


The features and specifications make Fire phone a decent package. Amazon has tried to craft an innovative phone and added unmatched features and services which can add utility. The Fire phone would be available through AT&T in the United States in July. So until late July we have to wait to distinguish its functions, worth and user friendly attributes.
